Just like you, we love the indulgence of delish food at Smoult's. Head chef Lee Harris has owned or run a range of ground-breaking cafes in Perth and brings a wealth of talent and experience that you'll benefit most from!
Smoult's owner, Georgie has hospitality 'running through her veins' (when coffee isn't) and grew up in her parents country pub. When not at Smoult's she'll be checking out what's happening in the food scene in Perth or immersed in one of her 3923 cookbooks and magazines! Georgie has come across to Maylands from East Victoria Park, where she successfully operated a cafe and catering business for almost 12 years. "I love the feel that Maylands has, it has a great sense of community and refreshing 'realness' to it. We've been here at Smoult's for five years now and it really feels like a second home."
That's it for now - to be honest, at Smoult's it's not really 'About Us', it's about you! We'll get to know you better every time you visit...
Just who is Smoult?
It's kind of a mystery regarding 'Smoult'. Family tree and ASIO investigations tell us that the name Smoult may be Estonian, translated as 'lover of meats, cheeses and wine shows'.
Conflicting stories have also emerged about 'Smoult' being of Danish origin, translated as either 'pastry made with lashings of butter' or 'salads of salvation.'
Other sources (talk-back radio) indicates that 'Smoult' is actually a middle-aged chap who is outraged about the price of straz in Strasbourg and pizza in Pisa.
